To the person who set my dog loose....

You underestimate how much she loves us!!!!  Leloo was outside this evening playing in our yard.  I go out to get her before this week's dog training and she's gone.  This is not the first time someone has done this.  The first time someone cut, yes cut her lease.  This time though they choose to just unhook her chain.  As you can tell I'm pretty agitated.  I will now be keeping an eye on her while she's outside even more than I already do.  I'm considering a camera, but I don't know yet.

Do any of you have an issue with people setting your dogs loose or kids playing pranks?

On a side note, once we caught her in the neighbor's yard we went to dog training.  More on that later.

  2. Scary! I am so happy you found Leloo and she was safe! What is the matter with people?! I hope you are able to find a good resolution that will make both you and Leloo happy. I wish I had some good advice to give to you but I am just not sure what I would do! Good luck and paws and fingers crossed it all works out!

  3. GASP!! I can not believe someone would do that to your dog. Thank goodness she came home. That is scary. Sorry I have no advice either, I can't imagine what you must be going through. Hope you are able to find who is ever doing this. That's just wrong!

  4. We have a theory that it may have been kids. The only thing that doesn't make sense is where they were when I was looking for her. It's a long country road and they don't live near us. Besides the fact of course, why do it at all?

  5. That is just not on!!!! It may well have been kids but where are their parents....grrrrrr....we get so mad at things like this. How about putting a sign up saying CCTV in Operation even if you haven't, just as a deterrent. xxx

The more I see of people, the more I love my dogs!

  6. Im sorry girlie! That is horrible! Koda is still too young I think to wander too far from us. He has walked outside before and as soon as he realizes he can't see us, he runs right back. I would install some sort of alarm or camera. Yikes!

  7. If you don't have a fenced yard, you might want to get a chain instead of a leash, or a metal tie out line. Then, if you have to, find a way to use a padlock to somehow lock a chain collar to her tie out. That way they without a key, or metal cutter they can't let them loose.

Otherwise, maybe a sign that says "video surveillance - trespassers will be shot" might help!

So glad you got her back! I know what it's like to have one running loose!

  8. Love all the comments and advice! We don't have a fence, but she is on a metal chain tie out. When she was little we had her just on a leash until it was "cut". Then we switched to metal chains and so forth. I'm liking the sign idea. Trespassers will be shot!!! It is the country, so I'm certain I could get away with it. LOL
